- Dr. Donald Arthur Rice earned a Bachelor of Science dgree from the University of Alberta, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the same university in 1945. He entered general practice briefly in Taber in 1946, and the same year moved to Lethbridge, where he practiced medicine until 1988. Dr. Rice was affiliated with the Roy Clinic. In 1966 he served as Chief of Staff of the Lethbridge Municipal Hospital, and from 1955 to 1988, as Director of the Lethbridge Cancer Clinic. Ruth Annette Rice (nee Anderson) was born in Claresholm, Alberta in 1925. She attended primary school in Claresholm and went to Nobleford for her high school years. She was a star basketball player for the Nobleford Petes. She graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in 1947. She was later working at the Galt Hospital. She married Donald Arthur Rice in 1949. Mrs. Rice served for many community organizations, in particular the alumnae of the Galt School of Nursing.
