History Biographical
Until 1948 the municipal administration of Lethbridge was scattered in a number of buildings around the city. The building in the photograph was constructed in 1948 on the northeast corner of the former Royal Canadian Mounted Police barracks square, at 910 4 Avenue South. Cost of the building was $250,000. In the 1970s space ran out in City Hall, and the civic government again spread out into a number of buildings throughout the city. In August 1998 the building in the photograph was demolished to allow construction of the current City Hall in the same location.
Scope and Content
Exterior of Lethbridge City Hall, looking southeast.
