Masuo Yahiro Funeral

Scope and Content: Members of the Japanese Canadian community of southern Alberta stand outside Martin Brothers Funeral Chapel with the coffin of Masuo Yahiro. Rev Y. Kawamura conducted the funeral service and is at the front left of the group of mourners.

History Biographical: Masuo Yahiro was part of the internment of Japanese Canadaian from the west coast of British Columbia in the spring of 1942, and relocated to the Iron Springs district of southern Alberta. He had lived in British Columbia for 24 years prior to the outbreak of World War 2 and his evacuation. Masuo Yahiro left a widow in Japan, and family members in Canada.
