- Western Canada Hardware Company Limited was founded as the Western Canada Agency Limited in Ocotber 1910. Located at 1216 1 Avenue South, the store sold everything from steel rails to explosives and automobile supplies. In May 1918 the company applied to the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies in Alberta to change the business name to Western Canada Hardware Company Limited, and it was known by that name from 1918 on. The business closed in 1986.
