- "The cornerstones for the two cairns on Chief Mountain highway at the boundary line in Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park were laid Sunday. Ven Archdeacon S. Middleton and others were present representing Canada, with the archdeacon placing historical documents, coins, etc., in the cairn on the Canadian side, while Supt. J.W. Emmert of Glacier National Park, deposited paper, a pine cone, "K" ration and other interesting articles in the cairn on the American side. Supt. H.A. DeVeber of Waterton Lakes National Park and other officials and visitors were present for the ceremonies." [Source: The Lethbridge Herald, 16 June 1947, page 3]
