The Record Holder

Scope and Content: The Record Holder, a CD of 11 songs by the band of the same name. The songs include Perfect Drunk, Commitment to the Game, Les Enfants de Japet, Self Storage, Amsterdam, Hotel Mural, Dreams of Production, Cool Burning Divorce, Affair of No Thamine, Eli, Tattle Tale.

History Biographical: John Granzow and his older brother Michael began playing music together in 2005, when John returned to Lethbridge from France and the two brothers became roommates. At first, the Granzow brothers covered existing popular music as a duo, and were the opening act for local bands. Soon, John and Michael began writing their own songs. The writing is a collaborative effort that encompasses both the music and lyrics, with each brother contributing in both areas. In mid 2008 drummer and percussionist Sandeep Mishra joined the Granzow brothers, and he in turn introduced the brothers to violinist and vocalist Nicole Hembroff in late 2008 . The four musicians formed the band The Record Holder. The band has played steadily at various local and regional venues since 2008 and their first recording, titled 'The Record Holder', was released in 2010. As of the time of this writing, summer 2010, the members of The Record Holder are leaving the band to follow individual opportunities and interests.
