- R.N. Wilson, 1864-1944 was a member of the Northwest Mounted Police (N.W.M.P.) from 1881 until 1886 at which time he founded The Standoff Trading Post. He was an amateur photographer and during visits to Writing-On-Stone In 1885 and 1887 took numerous photos. his originals were donated to the Fort Macleod Museum, but other facilities have obtained prints over the years.
