History Biographical
Blakiston came to Canada from England in 1857 to join the Palliser Expedition. Personality clashes between Palliser's men and Blakiston resulted in Blakiston setting out on his own. He was the first white man to put on public record his crossing of the Kootenay Pass. He is the one responsible for naming Waterton Lakes park and the Livingstone Range.
