- History Biographical
- Frank Hosek born in Germany. He came to Canada and to the Crowsnest Pass in 1920 where he worked in the mines. He was a member of the Western Colleries Band playing tuba. He moved his family to Lethbridge, Alberta in Following World War 2, his son Frank Junior organized the Lethbridge Junior Boys Band. They had been using the discarded instruments from the POW Camp 133 and Frank Junior asked his father to instruct the players how to hold and play them. By the end of the year, Frank senior had taken over the band and through the next 30 plus years gave lessons to all the city's youngsters.
