- History Biographical
- Dr. Wray was one of six children of George and Ann Wray (nee Allingham). The family lived in Wellesley County, near Waterloo, Ontario. Dr. Wray finished his secondary education in Edmonton, and spent three years as a school teacher in Edmonton and district. In 1905 he entered the University of Toronto Medical School, graduating in 1909. From 1909 until 1915 Dr. Wray practiced in Raymond, Alberta, and then joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps. After service in Calgary, England and France, Dr. Wray established his offices in Lethbridge in 1919. In January 1951 Dr. Wray became Medical Officer of Health for Lethbridge, but served only a short time until ill health forced his resignation. Dr. Wray married Marion Neilson on 15 July 1913. The couple had three children: Robert, Margaret (Mrs. Lewis) of Montreal, and Phyllis (Mrs. Levin) of Regina. Dr. Wray was a member of the Rotary Club, Masons and the Veterans' Club, as well as the YMCA and Lethbridge Medical Society. The family were members of Knox Presbyterian Church, later Southminster United Church. Dr. Wray died on 27 June 1952, and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery.
