- Photograph of Lethbridge Lions Swimming Club coach Gordie Hoselton who arrived in Lethbridge from an invitational swim meet in Winnipeg with 11 members of the club. Two of the local swimmers, Lorne Kemmet and Susan Hunt, cracked Canadian records in the Manitoba capital. Susan broke the girls’ 11 and 12 200-metre individual medley and 200-metre freestyle and Lorne shattered the boys’ 11 and 12 200-metre freestyle. Darwin Linn and Derek Martin, two members of the Downtown Lions Club, the swimming team’s sponsor, were on hand to greet the team upon their return.
