- Photograph of release of pheasants by the Alberta Fish and Wildlife Service. The birds were raised at the government pheasant hatche4ry at Brooks. Charles Dougherty, fish and wildlife officer at Lethbridge and Lee Jacobsen of the Brooks hatchery released about 300 pheasants in the Picture Butte district. Other clutches of 300 were released in the Chin, Taber-Barnwell, Bow Island, Foremost and Medicine hat districts. The total release in the fall of 1965 was expected to be 2,500 to 3,000 birds.
