Scope and Content
Photographs the Battersea area south of Iron Springs inundated by spring run off from 12,000 acres of surrounding land. Four farmers owning a section of land among them were affected. They claimed the building of roads by the municipality and other man-made factors were the cause of the flooding. Several months previous the provincial government indicated it would build a drainage canal to relieve the situation but nothing further was heard by the farmers.
