View of irrigation monument located on the east lawn in front of the city hall in 1963 (city hall has since moved to the west). The monument was dedicated to the pioneers of irrigation by Deane Gundlock, conservative member of Parliament for Lethbridge on November 24, 1963. It was was built through donations and contributions from both the business community and private citizens and symbolizes the Chinook Arch and includes a commemorative fountain of dark polished concrete. Instigator of the project was Douglas G. Oland.
