- Three photographs of the raising of the flag of Elmer the Safety Elephant at the Turin School. The left-hand photograph shows the lowering of the Union Jack. Second from right is A. W. Shackleford, president of the Lethbridge and District Safety Council. The centre photograph shows the raising of the Elmer Flag by Frank Machacek, President of the Turin Area Home and School Association. To the left of Mr. Machacek are Corporal P. J. Graham of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Richard Papworth, principal of the school. At right are Mr. Shackleford and Sergeant H. H. Aime, Supervisor of RCMP Highway Patrol for the area. The right-hand photograph shows both flags flying above the school.
