- "This history was compiled by Louise Hutchinson from information gathered by Margaret Exton (for the Lougheed family) and for the Kirkham history, from the writings of Thomas Walton Kirkham (1913-1986), from George Phillip Kirkham (1918) and from the book written by Alex Johnston and Andy de Otter called "Lethbridge - A Centennial History", published in approximately 1978. The book mainly talks about places and events, rather than individuals, but due to the great contribution of James Stanley Kirkham to the growth and development of Lethbridge, his life was given a whole page in the book (page 137)."
