- The "Freedom of the City" parade was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the first artillery unit in Lethbridge, the 25th Field Battery. The parade proceeded to Lethbridge City Hall, where a group of dignitaries was waiting: Brigadier General (Retired) Ernest Beno, Colonel Commandant of the Royal Regiment of the Canadian Artillery; Colonel A. Wriedt, Commander, 41st Canadian Brigade Group; Brigadier General M. Jorgensen, Commander, Land Force Western Area; Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Norman L. Kwong; Mayor Robert Tarleck; Alderman Thomas Wickersham. There the freedom of the city was requested by the officer commanding the 18th Air Defence Regiment RCA and was granted by Mayor Tarleck, the troops were inspected, and the dignitaries made brief speeches. The donor's granddaughter, Paige Marie Neufeld, serves as a Gunner with the 18th Air Defence Regiment RCA and participated in the "Freedom of the City" parade.
