- Handwritten copy of a contract for the sale and delivery of coal from the North Western Coal & Navigation Company (NWC&NCo.) to the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). The NWC&NCo. was to deliver 100,000 tons of coal to Medicine Hat in 12 equal monthly shipments, at a price of $5.00 per ton. The CPR also had the option of ordering an additional 40,000 tons of coal annually, again delivered to Medicine Hat in 12 equal monthly shipments. The contract was to begin on 1 September 1884 and continue for five years.
