- History Biographical
- The Lethbridge Pee Wee Hockey Association began about 1935 with two teams - the Canadiens and the Maple Leafs. The donor's father, Mr. Jim Crewe, became involved in the Association as a team manager the year after it began. Mr. Crewe's son, the donor, played for the Canadiens. In the photograph of the Lethbridge Pee Wee Canadians on the rink on 6 Avenue South, the players are wearing genuine Montreal Canadiens crests on their uniforms. The crests were obtained from the Montreal Canadiens by the Lethbridge Pee Wee Canadiens' coach Thomas Lewellyn.During the first and second years of the Pee Wee league, there were only two teams. They played every Sunday afternoon in the Lethbridge Arena, to packed bleachers.
