- In 1894, W.H. McIntyre, an American Mormon cattle rancher, purchased a tract of land from the Alberta Railway and Irrigation Company near Lethbridge. He imported cattle from Utah to establish his herd in Canada. Ultimately, the McIntyre ranch comprised 64,000 acres. The ranch was later sold to the Thrall family.
