History Biographical
In the publication "Seventy-Fifth Anniversary Lethbridge Country Club", author Bob Hawn states that "On May 2nd, 1931 some Lethbridge citizens formed a new organization called the Lethbridge Country Club. The Club secured an area of land from Messrs. Piche and Miron (who has operated a slaughterhouse in the Oldman Riverbottom), for course expansion beyond the nine holes originally started by L. M. Johnstone and R. J. Ritchie-Paterson some time before 1910 for themselves and their friends." "An expert, whose name I did not learn, was hired to lay out a better nine-hole course that could eventually be expanded to 18-holes..." It ispossible that this plan is the one drawn by the unknown expert sometime between 1931 and 1932.
