History Biographical
Albertan - local. Donor found the photographs in a house they bought at an estate sale. The previous owner, Mr. Spader, was a bricklayer on the construction site. He was a post World War 2 Lithuanian immigrant and lived at 1803 5 Avenue "A" North. The donor was born in the Galt Hospital. Mrs. Graham's maternal great grandmother was Hanna Mellor, a Northwest Mounted Police Matron. She came out from England in 1903, retired in 1919 and died in 1950 at the age of 93 years. The Paramount Theatre opened Saturday October 9, 1950. The first movie shown was " Fancy Pants" starring Bob Hope. The company responsible for the construction was Oland Contstruction Limited, Lethbridge.
