- The photographs in this collection show five fires that occurred in Lethbridge in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The fire at the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints church and Stake Centre occurred on 13 January, 1968. This fire was determined to be arson as a result of a domestic problems of a recently separated couple. The damages were $442,320. The fire at the Glendale Bowl in the Shopper's World mall, located on Mayor Magrath Drive South, resulted in $268,000 in damages. This fire occurred on 16 January, 1969. In April, 1970, there was a fire at General News, located at 237 - 12 Street B North. The losses totalled $60,000. There was a fire at Horne & Pitfield Foods Limited on 3 January, 1971, at 4th Street and 3rd Avenue South. There were $428,000 in damages. On 6 February, 1973, there was a fire at the Value Village Food Market at 538 - 13 Street South. The damages were recorded at $180,202.
