- History Biographical
- The Father Lacombe Assembly No. 007 planned and carried out the "Liberation Celebration - World War II Veterans Appreciation Day" project as a tribute to those Canadian soldiers who were part of the liberation of the Netherlands during World War II. The project consisted of two parts. One was a program of remembrance in Picture Butte, Alberta on 20 May 1995. The other part was an all-expenses paid trip for 24 Canadian veterans to the Netherlands from 24 April to 10 May 1995, to take part in the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the country's liberation. Father Lacombe Assembly No. 007 submitted documentation of their project to the 1994-95 "Be a Patriot" awards program of the Knights of Columbus, and won in the 'International' category for Simon Fraser Province, which includes British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
