- Albertan/Japanese. Mr. Kaisuke Hironaka came to Canada in 1917 to apprentice in the restaurant business under his uncle Yoichi (Harry) Hironaka, who owned the Sugar City Cafe in Raymond, Alberta. Kaisuke returned to Japan in January 1930 to marry. He returned to Raymond shortly after and his bride followed in 1931. For further history on the Yoichi Hironaka family see attached.
