- Caption beneath photograph " Escort of Mounted Police accompanying his Excellency Marquis of Lansdowne, Lethbridge August 1885". Photograph shows Northwest Mounted Police mounted on horseback. According to comment by C. A. Magrath, the Marquis was here to officially open the narrow -gauge railway between Lethbridge and Dunmore. He and Sir Alexander Galt spent the night with E.T. Galt who's house can be seen in background to left. The police were escorting the Marquis to Fort MacLeod.
