History Biographical
The courthouse was built in 1952 to replace the city's first courthouse, which stood on the northeast corner of 4 Avenue and 6 Street South. The 1952 building was in turn replaced by the present courthouse, built in 1984 at 320 4 Street South. The 1952 building is now home to several community organizations, the Fire Prevention Bureau, a private company and meeting space for the City of Lethbridge.
