- History Biographical
- The model in the photograph is not what was finally built. The Genevieve E. Yates Memorial Centre at 1002 4 Avenue South in Lethbridge was completed in 1966. Funding for the project came from the estate of Dean Roscoe Yates, and the facility was named for his late wife. The project sparked an intense discussion among community arts and cultural groups as to what facilities and activities should be included in the new building. Ultimately, the Genevieve E. Yates Memorial Centre was built as a performing arts facility.
