- Albertan. In the fall of 1943, some 250 Japanese evacuees were allowed to work in various lumber camps in Alberta. They worked in the Fort MacLeod, Burmis, Rocky Mountain House and Lesser Slave Lake areas. They returned in 1944 after demonstrating their trust worthiness (David Iwassa article).
