- History Biographical
- Richard T. Urch built the house in 1886 as a hotel, tavern, eating place and post office. In addition to the stop over. He ranched and operated a ferry service. Mr Urch died in 1924 and his widow remained on the ranch until her death in 1944. The house has been empty since about 1960. In 1984 the Lethbridge Herald donated to the Archives, their negatives dating from 1965 to 1983. The original collection is catalogued chronologically, but a few of the duplicates have been catalogued into the Archives' regular photograph collection. These images are from the 1984 Lethbridge Herald Collection.
