Approximately 10 minutes.interviewee: Wilfrid and jennie reed.interviewer: lori jarokosky, museum program leader.date: 5 january 1995. - Wilfred's grandfather (Job) arrived in London, Ontario in 1882 with 5 children. He spent the winter working on a farm in the area and in the spring of 1883 hired on with the CPR at Moose Jaw. The family moved to Saskatchewan, then to Woodpecker, AB, and finally Lethbridge in 1886. Here he purchased 6.6 acres in the vicinity of 6th Ave and 13 Street South and started a market garden. He supplied milk, eggs, and vegetables to the NWMP. In 1902 Job and 3 of his sons took out homesteads east of Granum. They ended up owning 2 sections, but no one was interested in moving there. - His grandfather was active in community affairs.and in 1905 went to England to lecture potential immigrates about why western Canada was the ideal place to live. He had kept a diary of his experiences in Canada and had hoped to publish it before his death. - The family sold their land in the Granum area and purchased a quarter section near Six Mile Coulee. - His Grandmother had an organ and gave lessons. Wilf donated the organ to the Gait Museum.
