Discusses the facilities, doctors on staff, procedures, uniforms and rates of pay. 438 - 492 Galt School of Nursing graduation exercises, valedictorian. TAPE 1, SIDE "B" 004 - 018 Galt School of Nursing graduation exercises, and dance (1935). 019 - 040 Specialed (private nurse to a particular patient) through St. Michael's Hospital. 040 - 042 Got married. World War II began. 042 - 225 Nursing Mission - 10th Street & 2nd Avenue South. Believes the Mission was the first Health Unit, included a baby clinic, homed unwed mothers, visitations to widows, prepared hampers for the needy. 226 - 388 Bigelow Fowler Clinic employment (1950 - 1960). 327 - 334 Nurses Union. 391 - 491 Gait Hospital became a nursing home for the elderly. Served as matron. Active Ladies Auxiliary. Training of nursing aides. TAPE 2, SIDE "A" 003 - 012 Auxiliary Hospital (Galt Hospital) was the first auxiliary hospital (1960). 013 - 131 New rehabilitation hospital opened in 1964, discusses the functions of the hospital. 107 - 125 Moving of patients and equipment from old Gait Hospital. Sale of equipment. 130 - 140 Resigned as matron in 1966. 141 - 338 Inception of "Meals On Wheels". . 148 - 158 Origin of "Meals on Wheels" organization. 231 - 296 Coordinator of "Meals On Wheels" 1970 - 1979. 297 - 304 Funding of "Meals on Wheels". 338 - 418 Church affiliation. 376 - 386 St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. 419 - 490 Smallpox epidemic. 459 - 479 Isolation hospital. TAPE 2, SIDE "B" 004 - 063 Smallpox epidemic, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, polio epidemic (1950's). 064 - 223 Family history: father, Morris Irvine. 126 - 181 Granny Walker Wright. 230 - 236 Span of nursing career. 250 - 263 "Meals On Wheels" Calgary organization.
