- Dr. Holberton was a member of the 39th Battery R.C.A. during WW2, and of the 39th Field Battery RCA. (WW2). association formed of veterans of the unit after the war. The association held its last formal reunion in 1997.
- M66613, Gunner Thomas H. McCready of the 39th Field Battery served in Holland during WW 2 in 1944/45. His widow, Lorene, and their daughter Gayle, attended the “Fifty Years Of Freedom Celebrations” in Holland in May 1995. They attended the reunion dinner of the 39th Battery on September 18, 1995 and Gayle presented her impressions of the visit they had made. These pictures an booklets were given to the 39th Battery for their archives."
