- Maurice and Jennie Conner and family moved from Iowa to Warner in 1907.
- Mr. Conner organized church services at New Dayton, Powell School, Sleepy Hollow and Lucky Strike, and was the first minister of the Warner Evangelical Church. He was elected to the Provincial Legislature in the United Farmers of Alberta Government in 1921. Maurice J passed away in May 1937 and Jennie in 1947.
