Loggia Rose No. 102, Independent Order Fior D'italia (circa 1925 - April 1970).

Loggia Rose No. 102 was a women's branch of The Independent Order Fior D'italia. The exact date of founding of Loggia Rose No. 102 is unknown, but the lodge could have evolved from Loggia Leonida Bissolati No. 5 in Coalhurst. Many of the female members of Lodge No. 5 later appear on the rolls of Loggia Rose No. 102 in Lethbridge. Lodge No. 102 fell under the jurisdiction of the Grand Council located in Coleman, Alberta. Lodge dues from Lethbridge were paid to the Grand Council in Coleman.

The Aims Of The Independent Order Fior D'italia, as stated in their Constitution and Bylaws of September 1945, were (1) "To be a rallying point for the protection of the rights of Italians in Canada..." (2) "... To maintain interaction with their language, culture and character..." and (3) "...To maintain on a high level the good reputation of Italians in Canada..."

The activities of Loggia Rose No. 102 were designed to fulfill the aims of the Independent Order Fior D'italia. Lodge No. 102 also operated financial assistance programs for its membership. Sick benefits were paid to members, subject to certain conditions. Benefits were also paid to surviving relatives in the event of a members's death, again subject to certain conditions.

The donor, Mrs Elda Jorgensen, was the last secretary of Lodge No. 102, and retained the records after the group's dissolution in April 1970. Most of the early records are in Italian, with English used only in later records.
