- Aunt Dorothy's Playhouse was a private kindergarten that Dorothy Gentl;eman operated from her home at 635 8 Street South from 1948 until 1973 when she retired. Mrs Gentelman was named Canada's "Mother of the Year" in 1961. She also served as an observer-consultant with the Headstart movement in the United States during its formative years. Dorthothy came with her parents from Aberdeen, Scotland in 1922 to settle at Alix, Alberta. She married William Donald Gentleman in 1928, and they moved to Lethbridge in 1943. William died on 22 December 1950 and Dorothy on 1st October 1980 at the age of 75. They are buried in Mountain View Cemetary.
