- History Biographical
- Sergeant Rudolf Senst was a prisoner of war in Camp 133 at Lethbridge. while interned he took courses in the camp school toward a degree in engineering.
- The courses were taught by qualified engineers, architects, and university professors who were also prisoners of war. after one semester Senst received word that his two brothers had been killed fighting in Russia and switched from engineering to building contracting, the family business in Germany. After finishing three more semesters of school, and nearly a fourth, Rudolf Senst was returned to Germany in early 1946. he received full academic credit for the courses he took while in Camp 133. Unfortunately, the family home and business was located in what had become East Germany. The Senst Contracting Business was confiscated by the Communist Government, and because he was politically uncooperative, Senst was restricted to constructing buildings worth under one million marks.
