- Yoshihiko (Joe) Miyanaga was born in Japan in 1902 and immigrated in 1921 to Victoria, British Columbia where he was employed on a strawberry farm then in a sawmill. In 1931 he returned to Japan to marry Kii Samurizono and together they moved to Mission City, British Columbia where they owned a sawmill. In 1942 the family was interned to Alberta. After living in the Barons, Iron Springs, Barnwell, Cranford areas they purchased a farm in the Taber area. For additional biographical information about the Miyanaga Family refer to the attached.
