History Biographical: Lethbridge Overture Concerts Association (1975-1981). The association was formally established under the Provincial Societies Act on 4 June 1975 for the purposes of: stimulating an audience for concerts by high-calibre performers, encouraging such performers to play in Lethbridge, and provide for the musical satisfaction and knowledge of the members. Founding members of the association were: W H S (Bill) Skelton, President; Charles B Bailey, Vice-President; Jack G Stead, Secretary; Frederick J Morgan, Director; George R S Gray, Director; Frank R Harper, Director; D Jean Ringland; Harriette Lindsey.; The association sponsored several concerts a year, from musical soloists to full symphony orchestras of National and International Reputation. In 1981 the association lapsed into inactivity because members felt that The University of Lethbridge was fulfilling the organization's mandate.
