- History Biographical
- Lily Erickson (nee Arthur) was born in Fort Macleod, Alberta in September 1913, and was educated in Fort Macleod and Wetaskiwin. Lily Arthur enrolled in the Galt School of Nursing about 1930 or 1931, but did not complete training due to an allergic reaction to the stockings that were part of student nurses' uniforms. She left nursing school and took a job in Reaches Store in Fort Macleod. Lily married Ernest Erickson in 1954, and died in Claresholm in 1989. The donor speculates that her mother kept these items because she always maintained the dream of becoming a nurse.
