- William Alfred Galliher was born in Ireland in 1860. He came to Lethbridge from Winnipeg in 1889, and resided in a room in Bentley's store until at least 1890.Mr. Galliher was a lawyer, and partner in a practice with Charles F.P. Conybeare. He was a strong supporter of the federal Liberal Party, and served as a Member of Parliament. In Lethbridge. Mr. Galliher introduced the sports of lacrosse and fox hunting.Mr. Galliher moved to British Columbia to take a job as secretary of the Nelson Board of Trade. He became involved in mining and real estate, and later became Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alberta.William Galliher died in 1934.
