History Biographical

Willis Henry Parsons was born and raised in Lethbridge. On 5 September 1939 Mr. Parsons joined the 20th Battery Royal Canadian Artillery (RCA), and saw combat in Europe. After his return to Canada, Mr. Parsons completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Alberta. Mr. Parsons was employed with the federal Department of Energy, Mines and Resources until he retired at age 65. Mr. Parsons was active in the Cub and Boy Scout movement both as a youth and adult, and was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Willis Henry Parsons died on 24 May 1994 in Ottawa, and is buried in Pinecrest Cemetery in that city.
