- The Riders of the Plains Commemorative Troop Association (ROTP) was incorporated as a registered non-profit society in Alberta on 29 February 1996. The main objectives of the organization are to preserve the second site of the North West Mounted Police barracks at Fort Macleod, develop interpretive programs and exhibits at the site for the years 1883 to 1904, and to maintain a commemorative mounted troop as an interpretive group, and to participate in special events.
- As of 2003, the ROTP has approximately 30 members. The group is restoring the second site of the North West Mounted Police barracks at Fort Macleod, and has an active group of horsemen in their commemorative troop.
