History Biographical: Written by the donor: "... Travel Diary Of An Automobile Trip... June 1970.; Cora Hastings had been in San Diego for the 1969-70 Academic Year. Margaret Broadberry and Betty Hewer flew to San Diego to make the trip back to Lethbridge with her. Margaret and Cora met in Lethbridge in 1967 when Margaret arrived from England and Cora came from Portland (originally from Pennsylvania) to take positions at the University of Lethbridge. Cora rented a basement suite from Betty Hewer at 2005 6th Avenue South. Betty Hewer had arrived in Calgary from Scotland as a child. Christmas Day 1926 whe married Frank N Hewer and came to live in Lethbridge. She died in 1984 at the age of 80. P.48 Mentions the homecoming celebration at Lavers. This would be the home of Reverand O. R. Lavers, retired United Church Minister, now dead.; P.S. The travel diary was written by Margaret Broadberry. She now lives in Calgary.
