- Emil Oscar Schumaker, January 2, 1912 - ? Mr. Schumaker Was Born In Lethbridge, And Was Educated Here. He Worked As A Clerk In The Lethbridge Hotel For 23 Years After His Graduation From School. He Was The Catcher For The Ellison Tigers Baseball Team, And Later For The Stern Furniture Baseball Team. The Stern Furniture Team Won A Championship Trophy. Mr. Schumaker Moved To Northern Alberta In 1947 To Manage The Following Hotels: Lakeside Hotel, Faust, 1947-9; Donald Hotel, Grande Prairie 1949-50; Dover Hotel, Edmonton, 1951-2. While In Edmonton He Was Voted Hotel Manager Of The Year For 1952. In 1952 Mr. Schumaker Moved To British Columbia Where He Managed The Hume Hotel In Nelson From 1952-60, And The Admiral Hotel In Burnaby From 1962-73. While In Nelson He Sponsored And Managed A Champion Fastball Team. He Retired In 1973 Due To Illness.
