- William G Moffatt, 1882-1970, was born at Carleton Place, Ontario. The donor is his sister. The Moffatt Family moved from Manitoba to Claresholm in 1902-3. William later lived in Blairmore (dates unknown). Moffatt studied a the Royal Academy of Music in London, England (dates unknown, but likely pre World War1 period). He was a school teacher, music teacher, pianist, and composer. With the help of Claresholm School Principal Owen Williams, Moffatt introduced music into the program of studies in the Claresholm School System.
