- Albertan. Alex Johnston has supplied further information on the reserves. This land was located near Mountain View... I don't know the purpose of this reserve but it was customary in the early days to set aside land for the raising of horses etc., for the NWMP. There was a remount station for the NWMP near Pincher Creek; in 1948 the Research Station at Lethbridge looked at it as a site for what later became the Stavely Grassland Research Substation of Agriculture Canada... As far as I know, some or many of these parcels are still in the hands of the government, possibly in the hands of the RCMP."
