History Biographical
William V. Edwards was born in Lethbridge on 12 September 1892. He served with the 25th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery (CFA), and then joined the 113th Lethbridge Highlanders as a Lieutenant. While overseas, he was wounded. He was also awarded the Military Cross for his service during the War. Mr. Edwards was the principal of Galbraith Elementary School prior to enlisting with the 113th Lethbridge Highlanders on 4 December 1915. He married Annie Klein Kemm on 15 March 1916 in Lethbridge. The couple had one daughter by 1922. In August 1922 the family left Lethbridge for Youngstown, Alberta, where Mr. Edwards became principal of the school following his graduation from the University of Alberta.
