- The collection was originally owned by donor's Aunt, Miss Mamie Gibson. Mrs. Doris Balcovske inherited the collection on the understanding that it would be donated to the Sir Alexander Galt Museum & Archives. Some of the items probably came to Miss. Gibson from her brother, Mr. Chris Gibson. Mr. Gibson was the donor's father.
