History Biographical

The original images were the property of the donor's father, mr. George Van Allen. Mr. Van allen was a teacher in Lethbridge and Principal of Westminster School from about 1912 and 1914. He lived in a room at the Y.M.C.A on the corner of 10th Street and 4th Avenue South.

Scope and Content

'A view of the coulees, or valley of the Belly [Oldman] River, our water supply. In the valley is seen the brushwood where we scout, etc. and the city pumping station. The city coal mines are a little to the right of the pump house. In the distance is the big Canadian Pacifac Railway (C.P.R.) bridge....'
